STM sets the course for further growth
More than 300 guests celebrated with StM on Friday, April 27, 2018 on the occasion of the opening of the new waterjet development centre. With the addition of 1400 m² and an investment sum of 2.4 million euros, the manufacturer of waterjet cutting systems doubled the operating site in Eben in Pongau and thus created even more space for research and development work.
Racing demonstration fired up the guests
After the official opening by Mayor Herbert Farmer and the blessing by Reverend Ambros Ganitzer, the team of barbecue world champion Helmut Karl served up the finest barbecue specialities for the numerous guests. A children’s programme with a fire brigade bouncy castle, children’s make-up, play and painting stations awaited the kids, while the big ones could watch waterjet cutting demonstrations and learn more about the individual StM departments. The highlight of the afternoon was the start of the Toro Rosso F1 rocket from Europe’s fastest racing series – BOSS GP. Salzburg’s adrenalin expert Ingo Gerstl, Team Boss and Technical Director of Top Speed, fired up the audience with a spectacular racing demonstration. The highlight of the evening was the 3D holographic show of the Electric Dance Theatre. The representation floating in space in combination with unique dance performances turned the corporate history into an audio-visual experience and invited viewers to dive into virtual worlds. The day ended with music and cocktails in a relaxed atmosphere.
STM on the road to success
The traditional company from Pongau is on a growth course. In 2012, the space became too confined for the waterjet specialist at the previous location in Bischofshofen, which is why Managing Director Jürgen Moser relocated the company to Eben. The location at the Tauern motorway turned out to be ideal. The extension was started in June 2017. A research and development centre was built in the new hall planned by architect Tom Lechner. “Innovation is our strength, we must constantly strive to make progress,” Moser says. Additional training and office rooms were created in the existing part. StM is not only growing in terms of floor space, the number of employees has also more than doubled in the last five years from 17 to 36. In addition to research and development, Moser also focuses on education and advanced training. “We offer numerous development opportunities for both technicians and administrative staff.” With this addition, StM is well prepared for further growth.
